First of all, we are confident that our levy renewal will pass. The voters have been supportive in the past and recognize the importance of having quality services for individuals in our community who have developmental disabilities. If the Levy renewal doesn’t pass we will have to make some very difficult decisions. This particular levy makes up approximately 20% of our annual budget.
We would first appeal to the County Commissioners to place us on the ballot again. We would then have to decide where to cut back services and programs. Potentially some children and adults would not be able to receive services and existing services would be negatively impacted. Potentially federal and state funds would be jeopardized as well, due to lack of matching funds if the levy renewal is not passed in 2020.
